Evaluate the overall condition of the main sewer line from the street cleanout all the way under the house.

Inspection Walkthrough
We started at the clay cleanout located in the street — the main access point for the city side of the line. From there, we accessed the two-way cleanout under the water box in the front walkway (note: the lid says “water,” but this is actually the sewer cleanout — a very common labeling mix-up we see).
Using our CCTV crawler, we pushed the camera backwards toward the house through ABS plastic pipe. The line was in solid condition with good flow and no immediate blockages.
We then continued the inspection under the house. The homeowner/tenant was kind enough to flush the toilet so we could capture live flow and get the best possible view of the pipe interior.
The camera traveled all the way to the very back of the line under the home, giving us a complete picture from the street connection to the furthest point. We then slowly pulled the camera back toward the cleanout for a second pass.
What We Found
- Pipe Material: ABS plastic under the house (installed later) transitioning to clay at the street.
- Overall Condition: Good – no major cracks, offsets, root intrusion, or collapses observed.
- Flow: Excellent during the flush test.
- Access Points: Cleanouts are present and functional (street + front yard).
This is a textbook example of a healthy sewer line for a property in Davis. While no immediate repairs are needed, we always recommend keeping these cleanouts accessible and scheduling periodic inspections every 3–5 years, especially on older homes.
